Jump to the yellow

jump, jump, jump

My mum said "Don't jump in those shoes, you'll break an ankle. Or both."

I said "Challenge accepted."

The weather was also challenging me.
As you can see in the first two photographs, I have this absolutely gorgeous jacket that when I woke up and it was sort of cold (60 degrees) I was SO excited to wear. Approximately ten seconds into shooting it, the sun made a not so surprise appearance and ruined the experience. I started melting.

My lovely new clutch made a very effective fan though. Stylish too. I've come to the realization that I absolutely love zig-zags. Maybe just because it's fun to say "zig-zag".

I HATED these shoes when we first bought them. They were black, and they were ugly. Then my mum got her hands on them, and voila, fabulous.

I wore this dress waaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day on this blog, when it really didn't fit, and I looked a bit like a rumpled girl scout from 1953. Today when watching Mad Men (best wardrobe inspiration tv show ever) I rediscovered it, and it's wonderful yellow-and-turquoise-ness.

Happy Easter to those who celebrate it!

To those who don't: try not to step on any eggs.

Speaking of eggs, I'm going to go dye a dozen neon pink.

The Bunny comes to ME for egg designs.

Justina

Ran Away With The Circus, and Got Myself A Bear

#teenvogue
tee: c/o don't feed the bears| pants: aero via teen vogue|
sneakers c/o burnetie shoes| sunnies c/o zerouv

Meet my bear.

His name is Rex, and he is actually a Longhaired German Shepard/floor pillow.

When Don't Feed The Bears sent me this awesome shirt (it's soft, it's purple, and it has a bear eating popcorn on it. It doesn't get better than that.), it made me think of my dog, because I'm constantly telling people not to feed him things, but then he just takes it.

Silly dog.

This outfit is perfect for bear wrangling though.

It also fulfills my elementary school outfit color mixes of pink and purple.

As you can see, I've gotten super attached to these sunnies.
As I learned today, they protect you from not only the sun,
but surprise dog kisses that smear your eyeliner.

He does it on purpose.

I know he does.

xx,
Justina

In The Name Of Pants

 Cigarette Bloom Pant

 pants: stylegodis

I really like pants.

I have very specific pant requirements, and after a discussion I had today about why I only own two pairs of jeans and no shorts,  I felt like I needed to explain them to you.

1. The pants must be cute.
See the above pants.
2. The pants must fit properly.
No matter how great your butt is, I don't need to be able to see THAT much of it.
3. The pants must be interesting to look at.
aka no beige pleats.
 4. The pants should be flattering.
Kind of goes back to #2.
5. The pants should have pockets.
POCKETS ARE A NECESSITY.

#5 is seriously one of my biggest issues with everything.
For some reason, people have decided that beautiful clothing doesn't actually need to be functional, and so they never have pockets. I have things I need to put in pockets!

Incase you were really curious, I only have two pairs of jeans because both pairs fit really well,
so why do I need more?
No shorts because..well...shorts. I just don't like them.

So there you have it.

Note to all future designers: add pockets.

xx,
Justina

Here Comes The Ice Cream Girl

 #teenvogue
jumper: c/o sugarhill boutique|shoes: c/o lulu*s | sunnies c/o zerouv

All ice cream trucks should play "Ice Ice Baby".

I love ice cream.

I've never had a sundae.

I have had cherries though, so that counts, right?

This jumper is amazing.

It's soft, lightweight, and has the worlds most beloved food product on the front.
Also, a collar. Which just makes everything better.

I know, again with everyones favorite pair of shoes, but you know what
they're awesome, so I will wear them.

SUNNIESSUNNIESSUNNIES WOO

Today, someone asked me why I say "sunnies" instead of "sunglasses".
Heres the answer: it's more fun to say.

So there.

I've been having a wonderful time reading and looking at y'alls Photobooth entries,
keep 'em coming.
Now I've got to go steal Nusardels Nutella ice cream.

Stay chilly.

hehehehehehe

Justina

Welcome to The Photobooth

(photo taken by my snazzy new macbook that actually works this time around)

Eyeliner is bang on in this one.

Ok, you guys know what I look like.
A little too well, probably.
But I have NO idea what you look like!
This is silly, because you are a huge part of my life.
I probably spend more time talking to you than I do people I see every day.

So here's how I'm going to fix that:

Send me a photobooth selfie of yourself.
Grab your camera and go crahaaaaazy.

I wanna see you in your element.
Pull out your favorite sweater, your pinkest lipstick, or your dog.
Better yet, put the sweater and the lipstick on the dog.

Actually, no, don't do that, my dog is glaring at me.

Once you have the photo, email it to me with your name, age, where you're from, and one line about yourself. In say...a week, I'll put the best up in a post here.

Time to be internet face-mous.

That was really bad.

xx,
Justina

It's Too Hot For This

#teenvogue
dress: c/o 50 dresses| mint flats c/o lulu*s| earrings c/o hippe hebbedingjetes | sunnies: c/o zerouv

I am not even kidding, this weather is ridiculous.
Dear California, it's March, put a cloud on.
I had to jump up and down like a crazy person (or, you know, me) to create a semblance of a breeze because I was melting.
The jacket is really just a symbol of the suffering I am forced to go through in the name of fashion.
and it's sort of a nice way to dress down a bit of a formalish dress
(wow, that was a really non-committal sentence.)

I LOVE these earrings. I usually avoid dangly or sticky outty earrings because, hello, hair.
But these are just so pink and fun I couldn't help myself.
Hence me swinging my head back and forth like my name is Quentina.

So remember how I was moaning on about how we had this whole situation with the computers and so on? Well we got a new Macbook and I was like
"PRAISE EVERYTHING WE ARE REMOVED FROM THE DARK AGES."
But no.
The universe was having one over on us.
 It wouldn't turn on.
Do you know what the odds are of getting a brand new Macbook that is broken are?
Basically 1/3764893649038749384938 to the power of ten.
Aka, perfect odds for it to happen to me.

 I just...can't.

But, alas, Apple has not completely forsaken us. They're fixing it like the nice computer people they are, and when it is back, we (you and I) will be crossing into a new frontier....

*frontier music plays*
YouTube.

Yes, I'm  putting my perpetually late self on that wagon.

Because you are the ones that will (hopefully? pretty please) be watching my videos,
 I want your ideas. (gimmegimmegimme)

And you know, because I love you, prizes for the idea I use in my first video.

The Harries twins are way too pretty.
Also, Tyler Oakley is going to be my cause of death, I just know it.

Hard to breathe when you're laughing so hard.

Justina

Honey, I'm Hooooommmeee.

So I went to San Francisco, to visit Maia, who has not been around for nearly two years.

This is me drinking bubble tea for the first time. It was slightly disgusting.

 I met a dinosaur.

This is my newest Canadian friend, Wil.
You are lying if you say he doesn't look like the Eleventh Doctor.
And he had the best beanie.
Elliot taught me everything I didn't know about basketball,
which was basically everything.

There were a lot of other adventures as well, but I think I may save those for a bit.
aka when my computer quits acting like a two year old and loads them.

The important thing is that
I am back and I promise to never ever leave you on your own like that ever again
or
at least until the next time I have to go.

So tell me: what did you do while I was away?

xx,
Justina

Obey Me

tee: obey propaganda| jeans: c/o miamasvin| whistle: c/o stella & bow| sneakers: c/o gojane |

I know you guys must be sick of the burgundy jeans/glitter sneakers combo,
but it's just so good.

As is this t-shirt, snagged from the edge of the mens section at my favorite thrift store.
(only had 2 dollers in my pocket, which was convenient, because that's what it cost)
Since then, Instagram has agreed that I get total street cred among teenage boys and tumblr people for its label. It looks grey in the photos, but I promise it's burgundy.
Or "boy-gundy", as boy colors tend to be way muted. hmm.

I'm going to be gone for a bit.
Just a few days, and I promise you'll love whats coming out of it, but I figured I'd give you a heads up.
If you want to track along, follow me on twitter  + insta.

Speaking of Instagram, check out this closeup of my nails in this shoot, done by my love Hannah, who also shot this look!

Crazy talented.

Ok, I'll be right back.

We're going to get our eyebrows bleached...

This blurry, shaky, crackly video was very entertaining for me.
What was lost in clarity was totally made up for in model humor.
There are lines such as
"I hate my bellybutton, because the doctor forgot to cut it"
and
"We're going to get our eyebrows bleached, so we're all very excited for that."

Definitely worth a watch.

Although, a cameraman wouldn't hurt in future.

xx,
Justina

ps. more outfits coming soon, I've been a complete slob, wearing nothing but leggings and sweaters, but a big moment is coming.
